Zucchini is actually the Italian word (later adopted by the US) for this slim green vegetable, while the French (and later UK) used the word courgette. With brilliant green skin dappled with dark spots and creamy white, crunchy interior flesh, this Polish heirloom stands out from ‘regular’ zucchini. Said to have superior taste and texture when fried.
