This variety was brought to Minnesota, from Sweden, by Charles Swenson in 1876. Traditionally these peas are picked before the pea swells, leaving a tender flat pod with tender little nuggets inside. Uncomplicated, unspoiled and just delicious to eat!
This large-podded Swedish heirloom is especially juicy, and crunchy! Traditionally used in Swedish (or English style) creamed pea dishes, they also work wonderfully in Asian recipes such as stir frying.
